Dress Code Policy
At Four Mile Adventist Christian School, our dress standards reflect our commitment to a Christ-centered environment. The purpose of our dress code is to promote modesty, neatness, responsibility, and a focus on learning rather than fashion trends. Dress standards apply to all school activities, including field trips, special events, and other school functions.
Students are expected to arrive at school wearing clothing that is clean, neat, appropriate in size, and free from stains, holes, or excessive wear. Students who do not follow the dress guidelines may be asked to change into appropriate clothing available at school, and parents may be contacted.
Approved Uniform Guidelines
Tops
- Solid-color polo-style shirts with sleeves are required.
- Shirts must be the appropriate size and provide adequate coverage.
- Tops must:
- Cover the shoulders.
- Be long enough to cover the midriff when arms are raised.
- Denim material is not permitted.
- Winter options:
- Solid-color sweatshirts may be worn over polo shirts with the collar visible.
- Solid-color long-sleeve shirts may be worn underneath polo shirts.
Bottoms
- Khaki-style pants and shorts in solid colors are approved.
- Clothing must be the appropriate size.
- Denim material is not permitted.
- Girls may wear:
- Solid-color skirts or skorts (non-denim).
- Polo dresses and jumpers in solid colors (non-denim).
- Shorts, skirts, and jumpers must be no shorter than one inch above the knee when standing.
Shoes
- Shoes must be closed-toe and appropriate for:
- Classroom activities
- Playground activities
- Physical education
Personal Appearance
Students are expected to maintain a neat and clean appearance that reflects Christian values.
- Hairstyles should be neat, clean, and in harmony with Christian principles.
- Personal hygiene and cleanliness are expected.
- No visible tattoos.
- Student/parent choice is permitted for outer coats.
Jewelry and Accessories
- Stud earrings are permitted for girls.
- No other jewelry may be worn during:
- Classroom activities
- Playground time
- Physical education
- Special school activities
- Excess jewelry may be removed and kept in the Principal’s Office until a parent retrieves it.
Nail Polish
- Nail polish is permitted for girls.
Dress Down & School Spirit Days
Throughout the school year, special Dress Down Days or School Spirit Days may be announced. These opportunities allow students to wear approved non-uniform clothing while continuing to follow guidelines for modesty, neatness, and appropriateness.
